Over 20 Markets to Attend Vietnam Water Week 2026

Over 20 countries and territories are expected to gather at Vietnam Water Week 2026, which will take place on September 16-18. The event is organised by the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) and partners, and will feature a series of exhibitions, seminars, business networking events, and professional exchanges.

The event will have a specialised exhibition area of approximately 4,000 square metres, and is expected to attract 200 organisations and businesses to participate, with around 250 booths.

International Participation

International organisations such as the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the International Water Association will participate in the event, along with water industry associations, management agencies, businesses, and experts from Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hungary, Finland, and elsewhere.

“International collaboration is a motivation for the development of the domestic water supply and drainage industry. The participation of international partners will create opportunities for the Vietnamese water industry to access advanced technology and management experience, while also expanding investment cooperation and strengthening regional and international integration,” Ha Thanh Hang, vice chairwoman of the VWSA, said on August 21.

Experts from Japan have experience and advantages in supply solutions for water treatment, and associations from Australia will introduce solutions to cope with climate change, Hang added.

Seminars and Workshops

Along with the exhibition, Vietnam Water Week 2026 will hold a series of thematic seminars with the participation of state management agencies, international organisations, experts, scientists, and domestic and international businesses. Key themes include digital transformation, climate change adaptation solutions, gender equality, and public-private partnerships.

“Vietnam’s water industry is facing increasingly high demands regarding ensuring water supply security and safety, adapting to climate change, modernising infrastructure, improving the efficiency of water resource use, and enhancing service quality,” said Nguyen Ngoc Diep, chairman of the VWSA.

The event will create a substantive networking space between management agencies, businesses, development organisations, and experts to encourage innovation, share international experiences, and strengthen cooperation in the water industry.

Awards and Recognition

The VWSA will also present awards, including the Green Stream of Vietnam award, the Young Water Sector Cadre of Vietnam award, the Outstanding Graduation Project in Water and Environment award, and the Water for Life photo contest.

This is the first time that Vietnam Water Week will be held concurrently with the seventh National Congress of the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, marking a generational leadership transition and defining strategic development directions for the industry in the context of digital transformation, climate change, and the need to modernise national infrastructure.

As the water industry continues to evolve, events like Vietnam Water Week play a significant role in bringing together stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities, and to find solutions to the complex problems facing the sector.

The event is expected to attract a large number of participants, and will provide a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, which is essential for the development of the water industry in Vietnam.
